The Keating-Owen Child Labor Act was referring to the issue of child labor occuring in the North with its role in trade, commerce and business. It stated that if children were involved in the making of products the products would not be distributed or sold anywhere around the states. They set standards for businesses and made crimes like this punishable with jail time. This act was also known as the Wicks Bill and only lasted a short amount of time due to court cases, as it was seen to be giving the government too much power over businesses.
