LAD/Blog #23: McKinley's War Message
This message refers to the war that broke out in Cuba in 1898 against the Spanish. President McKinley was quick to address the issue saying it is a tragedy and something that should end fast. He didn't like Spain, so he tried to plead with congress for military intervention in Cuba. He emphasized that because of the proximity Cuba has to the States they should intervene in the war to prevent it from getting out of hand.
