Christopher Columbus was an Italian explorer mainly well known for his so called discovery of America. Many people believe that he was a good man, but there is nothing good about his actions. The only semi-good thing that Columbus did was make a bridge from the new world to the old world in the Columbian exchange, bringing animals, plants, and culture across the ocean. Columbus never discovered America, as millions of natives were already on this land. Contrary to belief he wasn't the first to discover countries or islands in any part of America, as the spanish had already been there before him. He was a racist man who believed he was superior than the native's he encountered in the Caribbean islands, and America, as he enslaved and mutilated many of them. Although he did minor good things, he shouldn't be celebrated or much less honored as he was a horrible human being.
