Blog #3: Declaration of Independence

1. List the democratic principles discussed in the opening.
 The Democratic principles state that the government was run for the people. They stated they will do what is best for everybody. It also means the people get a large say in what the laws are, and they have the right to change the government if these needs are not meet, since the government has to protect their rights.

2.  List 5 grievances the colonists were making the King aware of.
These grievances are from the negative impact the british left during their colonial rule.The biggest one was the amount of destruction the British caused. They destroyed towns and lives of innocents.The british cut off trade with everybody, but still had taxes present which angered the Americans. Another one was also how the colonists were having to accommodate a large number of British soldiers in their homes.

3.  Summarize what the final paragraph is saying.
In conclusion, this declaration states that they are officially independent from the British empire. As free independent states, they will now be able to have their own government, which means they won't have a monarchy.
